Ai Weiwei’s middle finger has been a recurrent theme in the artist production. An extension to Ai Weiwei´s Study of Perspective Series (1995-2003) photographic series, the Study of Perspective in glass encourages questioning towards governmental and institutional authorities. 

Transposing from photography to glass casting in an edition of superlative craftsmanship. Created entirely of Murano glass, Study of Perspective in Glass offers innate light and airy qualities of the glass meld. Weiwei has previously conducted works entirely in glass, as seen on Blossom Chandelier, 2017. The technical expertise of glass production dates since the 13th century in the Venetian island of Murano.
