Anish Kapoor

Anish Kapoor is a sculptor and installation artist. Born in Mumbai, India in 1954, he moved to London in the early 1970s and studied at Hornsey College of Art and later at Chelsea School of Art and Design. Kapoor gained international recognition in the 1980s for his abstract, pigment-covered forms and later for his large-scale public sculptures that explore voids, reflection, and perception. In 1991, Kapoor was awarded the Turner Prize and continues to be a leading figure in contemporary sculpture worldwide.
