
David Shrigley
David Shrigley is a visual artist known for his humorous and deliberately crude drawings that blend wit, absurdity, and social commentary. Born in Macclesfield, England in 1968, he studied at the Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1991. Shrigley works across drawing, sculpture, animation, and installation, often using text to highlight the surreal and awkward aspects of everyday life. His work has gained a broad international following, and he was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2013. Shrigley’s distinctive style and deadpan humor have made him a unique voice in contemporary art
