EPI
EPI is a British contemporary artist and provocateur, born in Bristol in 1965. He began his career in the early 2000s by stenciling literary quotes across the streets of Paris, an act that attracted both attention and controversy. Epi is known for his bold “destructivist” style, appropriating imagery from Pop Art, Surrealism, vintage posters, and book covers, then subverting them with satire aimed at the pretensions of the art world. His work blends technical skill with biting humour, creating visual trompe-l’œil that mimic iconic styles while critiquing contemporary culture and the blue-chip art market.
