Loie Hollowell

Loie Hollowell is an American painter known for her abstract, bodily forms that explore themes of sexuality, motherhood, and spirituality. Born in 1983 in California, she studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and earned her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work combines geometric shapes, rich colour gradients, and sculptural textures, often referencing the female body in symbolic, meditative compositions. Hollowell’s paintings blur the line between figuration and abstraction, earning her international recognition and exhibitions at major galleries and institutions.
