Richard Prince is an American artist known for his provocative work challenging authorship and originality. Born in the Panamanian Canal Zone in 1949, he moved to the U.S. and began his career in the 1970s. Prince made waves in the 1980s with re-photographed advertisements and his controversial “Cowboy” series. Working across photography, painting, and collage, his practice critiques consumer culture and the media landscape, sparking ongoing debates about plagiarism, creativity, and the boundaries of art.
