Yves Klein

Yves Klein

Yves Klein was a French artist known for his pioneering use of colour and performance in postwar art. Born in Nice in 1928, he is best known for his signature deep blue hue, International Klein Blue (IKB), which he used in monochrome paintings, sculptures, and live “Anthropometry” performances. Klein’s work explored immateriality, spirituality, and the body as a tool for creation, bridging painting, conceptual art, and minimalism. Though his career was brief, his influence on contemporary art remains profound.
