About Billy Childish
Billy Childish works across painting, printmaking, music and writing. His subjects include self-portraits, landscapes and historical scenes, often rendered with visible marks, expressive colour and deliberately unpolished contours. Drawing on artists such as Edvard Munch and Vincent van Gogh, he brings a direct figurative language to paintings, woodcuts and other printed editions.
