About Barbara Kruger
Barbara Kruger is a conceptual artist whose text-based works examine power, identity and consumer culture. Drawing on her background in graphic design and art direction, she combines black-and-white photographic imagery with declarative captions. Her practice extends across installations, billboards and public spaces, using the language of mass communication for feminist and political commentary.
